Chores ᐧ 30 the treehouse
30 the treehouse
I would fight for your sweet birdsong
that frees me so, to sing along

Climbing up the right hand side of 30 the treehouse are swirls of embroidery bearing amongst them a statement charm that both grounds and crowns the piece. Inside, the lining is beautifully balanced between the muted cross-hatch pattern on the back and the large format squares with cloud motif on the front — two exceptional takes on storied Japanese indigo dye techniques. Appropriately, her name is camouflaged against the back lining on high, resting against the wearer’s left shoulder blade.
Materials
Vintage chore coat (cotton or cotton blend), patchwork lining constructed from antique indigo-dyed cotton fabric scraps, cotton embroidery floss, blister pearl and silver charm, glass beads
Measurements
48” bust, 27” length (high point shoulder to hem)
Kaci (model) is 5'5" tall
Care
For coats — remove charm using silver clasp, then dry clean or hand wash cold with mild detergent and line dry, warm iron on reverse with a little steam. Interior button serves as extra support for the silver clasp, which can be reinforced or removed as needed. For charms — gently clean with mild soap, warm water, and a soft cloth. Avoid wetting charms for extended periods of time. If using silver polish, avoid pearl.
