Chores ᐧ 05 The Storm
On the night we drove through the storm, my wandering eye would come home again and again to each new rip in the sky that tore my gaze towards it. I can’t remember how many of the thin white streaks flashed bright before I lost count anyway, or where they threw themselves so silently across the horizon - but I remember the dance we did, my eye and the storm, and the mysterious steps we traced as we made our way across the sky, back and forth.

Chores is a collection of eighteen hand-embroidered vintage chore coats, celebrating the beauty of earnest labor. Because each piece is a vintage garment transformed through hand-embroidery, each piece is unique.
The elegant, graphic nature of The Storm’s visual metaphor covers both shoulders and collar with vibrant stitching to echo the streaks left behind by rain - and speaking to the sky’s own dramatic, painterly ways. It features details like the beautiful scar left behind by a previous repair, bright moments of white beading scattered across the body, and a contrasting color scheme of cool base and warm highlight.
05 The Storm measures:
|Cross Chest||26" (52" Bust)|
The fabric is a slightly lighter weight cotton twill with dark blue stitching which glimmers in the light; it has a more broken-in hand-feel and a fluid drape. This piece has a hidden button placket; only the top button is visible. It is in fair condition, with five small tears repaired through darning (2 on back, 1 on front, 1 on left sleeve).
Please hand wash cold with mild detergent, and line dry. Warm iron on reverse with a little steam.
